Collabora Office ISEVEN_ADD: Numeric Even Compatibility Test
ISEVEN_ADD returns numeric parity flags through a signed 32-bit add-in interface. Compare ISEVEN and understand decimal truncation, bounds and numeric masks.
Verification status: See the evidence and test scope described in this guide. How formula examples are checked
ISEVEN_ADD returns a numeric 1 or 0 indicating whether the integer passed to its compatibility add-in is even. It is useful when maintaining a workbook that explicitly uses this suffixed function. It is not a general test that a supplied decimal value is already an integer.
Syntax and the add-in distinction
ISEVEN_ADD(Number)
There is one required numeric argument and no optional mode. A numeric cell reference can supply the argument. The wrapper routes it through the interpreter’s signed 32-bit integer conversion, then the add-in tests its low bit. For ordinary finite values, fractional parts are discarded toward zero: 2.9 becomes 2, and −3.9 becomes −3. The source uses approximate floor/ceiling helpers, so these examples do not specify the rounding of every value extremely close to an integer.
The converted integer must be in −2,147,483,648 through 2,147,483,647. Out-of-range conversion sets the internal IllegalArgument error before a valid parity result is obtained. This is a source error identifier, not an observed localized error display.
The unsuffixed ISEVEN has its own operand inspection and requests logical result formatting. This add-in returns an integer result. Agreement on small integer inputs does not establish identical text coercion, large-number handling or display formatting. The help describes the suffix as Excel 2003 compatibility; that statement is not an export round-trip test.
Worked inputs and expected results
Enter the formulas below into separate cells. For the final row, first put numeric 12 in A2. The outputs are source-derived numeric results, not screenshots of execution.

A negative sign does not change parity: −3 is odd because it is one integer away from the even value −4. Zero is even. For decimal inputs, apply the conversion before reasoning about parity. Thus ISEVEN_ADD(-3.9) tests −3, not −4 and not the divisibility of −3.9 itself.
Practical case: an alternating numeric mask
Suppose A2:A5 contains the integer batch identifiers 101, 102, 103 and 104, and B2:B5 contains amounts 10, 20, 30 and 40. In C2 enter =ISEVEN_ADD(A2) and fill down. The expected mask is 0, 1, 0, 1. Multiplying each amount by its mask selects the even identifiers; the independently calculated total is 60. This uses the numeric nature of the result directly. It does not depend on whether a cell happens to display a Boolean word.
Keep identifiers as validated integers. A malformed identifier such as 101.9 would be classified using 101, potentially hiding a data-quality problem. Parity and integer validation are separate questions. Do not apply this signed-32-bit compatibility function indiscriminately to long external identifiers.
Errors and input cautions
- A missing required argument is not a documented zero default. Supply the value explicitly.
- Existing input errors should not be treated as a useful zero mask. Do not conceal them merely to make totals calculate.
- Numeric text, blank cells and Boolean values pass through operand-conversion machinery. This guide does not promise that all those cases behave identically to numeric cells or to ISEVEN.
- The endpoint controls above deliberately test representable signed integers. They do not establish arbitrary-precision parity or behavior for nonfinite numeric values.
- A single-cell formula is illustrated; no array-entry, spilling or import workflow has been verified.
Compatibility, lifecycle and evidence
This guide covers the new Collabora Office desktop for Linux, using the vendor-identified source for Flathub tag coda-26.04.4.3-1, commit 81339d176148d0d5c81ff05d82540f58f8aaa117, and official Help 26.04 checked October 18, 2026. Examples are independently calculated and checked against that source; they have not been executed in Collabora Office or another calculation engine. Display formatting and import/export round trips are untested. This evidence does not establish parity with Classic, Online/CODE, mobile, Windows or macOS.
The function remains documented and implemented in this snapshot. Compatibility status is not proof of retirement or formal deprecation. Its first introduction in this new desktop product is not established by the cited material.
