Deployment and evidence boundary
Collabora Online Calc in a desktop browser, English interface, editable ODS practice file. Online controls were checked in the vendor’s historical 25.04 branch source at commit 3847fbcfe35a234544cf163ed9e004a3d197337c on 19 October 2026; this historical source snapshot is not a current development head or certification of any hosted build. Record the actual COOLWSD and LOKit versions from Help → About, browser, interface, and storage host before testing. Desktop Collabora Office and mobile apps are outside scope.
The exercise has independently checked synthetic expectations, not a live application result. No current native GUI or authorized hosted test file was available, so native screenshots and save/reopen evidence remain pending. An unavailable, renamed, disabled, or policy-blocked control is a stop condition; do not substitute a desktop-only route. Keep the original safe and work in a disposable file created through your existing authorized host. Host permissions, autosave timing, revision history, and clipboard policy are not established by the Online source.
Extend a sequence and copy one formula while preserving its fixed rate reference. Use the final formulas as the test; a plausible-looking total alone is insufficient.
Enter the complete starting fixture
In a blank sheet named Fill, enter these cells individually. All remaining cells are blank.
| Cell | Entry |
|---|---|
| A1 | Day |
| B1 | Units |
| C1 | Amount |
| E1 | Rate |
| E2 | 3 |
| A2 | =DATE(2026;10;1) |
| A3 | =DATE(2026;10;2) |
| B2 | 2 |
| B3 | 4 |
| C2 | =B2*$E$2 |
Use straight characters and the workbook’s formula separator. If these English semicolon formulas are rejected, follow the existing formula-separator diagnosis rather than replacing punctuation inside quoted text. Format A2:A6 as dates if they display serial numbers. The first two dates must represent 1 and 2 October 2026, not text.
Fill the sequences
The vendor’s 25.04 announcement documents a drag preview and the choice between extending a series and copying. Its 25.04.13 notes describe a fix to Ctrl-drag copy behavior; this exercise does not rely on the modifier key.
- Select B2:B3, then drag the selection’s lower-right fill handle down to B5. Use the series/extend choice if shown. Before releasing, inspect the preview where available. B2:B5 must become
2,4,6,8. If it repeats2,4,2,4, the copy choice was used; restore B2:B3 to2,4, clear B4:B5, and retry in series mode. - To make the date series unambiguous, change A3 to
=A2+1, commit it, then copy A3 and select A4:A5 and paste. The copied formulas should be=A3+1and=A4+1; A2:A5 must represent 1–4 October 2026. This date sequence uses ordinary relative formulas, not a guessed Online Fill Series dialog. - Copy C2, select C3:C5, and paste within this same document. Check the formula bar for C3
=B3*$E$2, C4=B4*$E$2, and C5=B5*$E$2. Expected amounts are6,12,18,24. The dollar signs keep E2 fixed while the B row moves.
Browser clipboard handling can require the keyboard shortcut shown by Online after a menu command. Use Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V on Windows/Linux or Command+C/Command+V on macOS in the sheet, not the browser address bar. If the host forbids copying, do not bypass its policy; this part remains blocked.
Change the driver and add one row
Set E2 to 5. Expected C2:C5 is now 10, 20, 30, 40; all four formulas must still use $E$2. To grow the table, put B6 10, copy A5 into A6 and C5 into C6. The new formulas are =A5+1 and =B6*$E$2; the date is 5 October and amount 50. Check the full amounts sum independently: 150.
Final checkpoint: A2’s DATE formula, A3:A6’s preceding-cell-plus-one formulas, B2:B6 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, E2 5, and C2:C6 10, 20, 30, 40, 50. These are expected results, not observed native behavior.
Save, reopen, and recover
Before the final save, choose and record the actual practice filename and its host folder/location or stable file identity in your test log. If two files have the same title, distinguish them by that host identity; a downloaded copy is a different file. Finish the current cell edit with Enter before saving. Use the available Save command and wait for the host’s saved indication; a visible value or another editor’s cursor does not prove durable storage. Close only after that indication, reopen the recorded filename at that exact host location or stable file identity, and compare the final checkpoint below. If saving fails or the host is disconnected, record the intended cells and values separately and resolve storage access before closing. Do not assume edits survive a disconnected tab.
For an optional reset exercise, first preserve the final saved file, then make a separate authorized practice copy with a different filename and record its host location or stable identity. Confirm that this reset copy, not the preserved final file, is active. Re-enter the exact initial fixture in that copy. Do not depend on Undo after reopening, and do not restore a shared historical revision over someone else’s changes.
For reset in the separate copy, clear A4:C6 and C3, restore A3 to =DATE(2026;10;2), E2 to 3, and the other starting entries exactly as above. If a fill handle is unavailable, record the build/interface and leave the autofill test pending; entering the expected numbers manually does not validate autofill. A formula displaying literally may be text-formatted: correct the cell format and re-enter it, then inspect the formula bar.
Sources and testing disclosure
Vendor source and documentation were reviewed; synthetic expectations were computed independently. Source-code review is not native application execution. Preserve deployment-specific verification and publication holds. No screenshot is supplied because no matching current GUI capture was available.
