Deployment and evidence boundary

Collabora Online Calc in a desktop browser, English interface, editable ODS practice file. Online controls were checked in the vendor’s historical 25.04 branch source at commit 3847fbcfe35a234544cf163ed9e004a3d197337c on 19 October 2026; this historical source snapshot is not a current development head or certification of any hosted build. Record the actual COOLWSD and LOKit versions from Help → About, browser, interface, and storage host before testing. Desktop Collabora Office and mobile apps are outside scope.

The exercise has independently checked synthetic expectations, not a live application result. No current native GUI or authorized hosted test file was available, so native screenshots and save/reopen evidence remain pending. An unavailable, renamed, disabled, or policy-blocked control is a stop condition; do not substitute a desktop-only route. Keep the original safe and work in a disposable file created through your existing authorized host. Host permissions, autosave timing, revision history, and clipboard policy are not established by the Online source.

Organize a small workbook without silently changing what a summary points to. Sheet names identify data; sheet order merely makes it easier to find.

Build three sheets

Use a blank disposable ODS file. Right-click its sheet tab and use Rename Sheet to name it Input. Right-click Input and choose Insert sheet after this; rename the inserted sheet Summary. Then right-click Summary, choose Insert sheet after this, and rename that inserted sheet Notes. In the checked Online source, these are tab-context-menu actions; the translated Rename label may include an ellipsis. If editing is disabled or a sheet is protected, stop rather than trying to change protection.

Enter every cell below; all unlisted cells are blank.

Sheet Cells and entries
Input A1 Item; B1 Units; A2 Kits; B2 4; A3 Repairs; B3 6
Summary A1 Total; B1 =SUM(Input.B2:B3)
Notes A1 Practice only; A2 Keep this sheet

The original tab order is Input, Summary, Notes. Summary B1 should show 10. Select it and check the formula bar, not just the displayed number.

Rename, move, and copy deliberately

  1. Right-click Input, choose Rename Sheet, and enter Orders. Check Summary B1: its direct reference should now point to Orders.B2:B3, still showing 10. Stop if it becomes #REF!; preserve the original and inspect the actual formula before doing more structural work.
  2. On the Summary tab, choose Move Sheet Left once. The expected order is Summary, Orders, Notes. A move within this workbook should not change B1’s value or target.
  3. Activate Orders. Open the tab’s Move or Copy Sheet command. The source supports the move/copy dialog; a single-sheet workbook may instead show Copy Sheet…. In the dialog choose the current document, enable the copy option, choose the position after Orders, and give the copy the name OrdersCopy if offered. If the dialog offers no copy choice, cancel. Never accept a move while intending a copy. After accepting, rename the new tab OrdersCopy if necessary.
  4. Confirm both Orders and OrdersCopy exist and each contains the original two records. Change only OrdersCopy B2 to 40. Its local total is now 46; Summary B1 must still be 10. Copying did not redirect the summary.
  5. Right-click Notes and choose Hide Sheet. It should disappear from the tab strip, while three other sheets remain visible. Use Show Sheet from a visible tab’s context menu, select Notes, and confirm. Verify A2 remains Keep this sheet. Hiding is presentation, not confidentiality or access control.

Grow the data and verify the final state

On Orders, set A4 to Service and B4 to 5. Appending beneath the original sum range does not guarantee extension: inspect Summary B1. Explicitly set it to =SUM(Orders.B2:B4); the expected final total is 15. Keep OrdersCopy B2 at 40 and B3 at 6; the copy is an independent snapshot and should not gain the new row.

Final checkpoint: four visible tabs ordered Summary, Orders, OrdersCopy, Notes; Summary B1 15 with the three-row Orders reference; Orders B2:B4 4, 6, 5; OrdersCopy B2:B3 40, 6; Notes A1:A2 unchanged. If the copy appeared at a different position, use Move Sheet Left/Right until this order is reached.

Save, reopen, and recover

Before the final save, choose and record the actual practice filename and its host folder/location or stable file identity in your test log. If two files have the same title, distinguish them by that host identity; a downloaded copy is a different file. Finish the current cell edit with Enter before saving. Use the available Save command and wait for the host’s saved indication; a visible value or another editor’s cursor does not prove durable storage. Close only after that indication, reopen the recorded filename at that exact host location or stable file identity, and compare the final checkpoint below. If saving fails or the host is disconnected, record the intended cells and values separately and resolve storage access before closing. Do not assume edits survive a disconnected tab.

For an optional reset exercise, first preserve the final saved file, then make a separate authorized practice copy with a different filename and record its host location or stable identity. Confirm that this reset copy, not the preserved final file, is active. Re-enter the exact initial fixture in that copy. Do not depend on Undo after reopening, and do not restore a shared historical revision over someone else’s changes.

In the reset copy, remove only the known practice copy sheet after checking its identity, rename Orders back to Input, clear A4:B4, set Summary B1 to =SUM(Input.B2:B3), and restore the initial three-tab order. If deletion prompts for confirmation, read it and cancel if it names a different sheet. A missing Show command may mean there are no hidden sheets; a missing move/hide command can reflect last-visible-sheet or protection restrictions.

Sources and testing disclosure

Vendor source and documentation were reviewed; synthetic expectations were computed independently. Source-code review is not native application execution. Preserve deployment-specific verification and publication holds. No screenshot is supplied because no matching current GUI capture was available.
