Zoho Sheet #NAME!: Check Function Spelling, Names and Text
#NAME! is a recognition problem, not a request to change the input numbers. Zoho lists invalid function names, defined-name mistakes, missing quotation marks around text and missing range colons as possible causes. Inspect the offending formula before changing the data. Zoho’s documented causes.
Repair a misspelled function first
In a disposable worksheet, enter 6 in A2, 8 in A3 and 11 in A4. In C2, intentionally type =SUUM(A2:A4). Assuming no custom function named SUUM has been defined, the misspelled function is expected to produce #NAME!.
Change only the function name to =SUM(A2:A4). Expect 25, independently checked as 6 + 8 + 11. Change A4 to 12 and expect 26. If these checks succeed, the input range is calculating again. There is no reason to convert the input cells or replace their values because of this spelling error. For ordinary syntax, consult SUM.
When the function name is correct
Read the remaining tokens individually. A token intended to be a defined name needs the exact existing name and the correct referenced range. Do not create a new name pointing at an arbitrary cell just to make the formula run. Confirm what that name was supposed to represent with the workbook’s author or its specification. See tables and named ranges.
If a token is instead a literal status word, it needs quotation marks. In an unused cell, ="Ready" should return Ready. An unquoted =Ready asks for something named Ready, not the text label. If a valid name Ready already exists, that latter formula may evaluate without an error yet produce the wrong content. Diagnosis depends on intent as well as the visible error.
For a range, compare its endpoints against the intended records. A2:A4 means the contiguous range from A2 through A4. Do not add a colon blindly to a token that is supposed to be a named range or a single cell reference.
Keep unsupported formulas separate
An imported formula may use a function that is not documented for your target edition. Check the function’s own official help before treating it as a typo. Renaming it to a vaguely similar supported function can change the calculation. Preserve the original formula and document a replacement’s inputs, output and edge cases before relying on it.

Examples are documentation-based and arithmetic/string reasoning was independently checked; they were not executed in Zoho Sheet.
