Collabora Calc Practice Files: Choose a Download and Check the Result
These ten downloadable practice files supply synthetic data or manual-entry instructions for the existing Collabora guides. They are four CSV files and six TXT files, not ready-made ODS templates. None contains a configured pivot, named range, protection rule, validation list, personal view or print setup.
Choose the problem you want to test below, download its file and follow the linked tutorial’s product/version prerequisites. Keep the downloaded original untouched and make a disposable spreadsheet copy for the exercise.
Before opening a file
A CSV contains delimited records. Check the encoding, separator, column count and intended types in the import preview before accepting it. Comma-separated files below have ordinary comma delimiters; the date-preservation file is explicitly semicolon-separated. A TXT file is a readable setup ledger: open it as text, then enter the specified cells and formulas manually. Do not import the whole instruction file as worksheet data.
The CSV import tutorial draws on the Online 6.4.9 CSV announcement and Collabora Text Import help. That does not certify every current host’s dialog. Confirm that the controls you need exist. Desktop Help labeled 26.04 is a documentation scope, not proof of the installed runtime; Online, mobile and traditional/Classic desktop routes must not be substituted indiscriminately.
Import and formula foundations
Preserve date strings and long identifiers
Download semicolon-date-practice.csv · UTF-8, semicolon-separated, 4 columns and 2 data rows.
Use it for the date-and-ID preservation exercise. Set RecordID and OriginalDate to Text before import where those controls exist. The first ID must remain 000012345678901234 (18 characters), and the first date string 03/04/2026 (10 characters). The Note field North; priority must stay in one cell; the other note is Café. Quantities 2 and 7 total 9. This tests character preservation, not date interpretation.
Repair a formula without rewriting everything
Download formula-repair-practice.txt · manual-entry instructions.
Use the Err:509 repair guide to distinguish the absent multiplication operator from separator questions. The text contains deliberately broken syntax, so do not paste every line as a working formula. With B2 = 5 and C2 = 3, corrected arithmetic gives 14 for 2*(3+4), 15 for multiplication and 8 for the two-argument sum. Changing B2 to 6 gives 18 and 9 for the latter two checks. Match the installation’s argument separators.
Define a name and deliberately extend its bounds
Download named-range-setup.txt · manual-entry instructions.
Follow named and database ranges. Four values 10, 20, 30 and 40 total 100; changing 40 to 45 gives 105. Restore 40, append 50 and 60, then explicitly expand the name to get 210. The TXT does not create the name or choose its scope for you. The tutorial separates Online named-range controls from a traditional desktop database-range command.
Summaries and shared data
Check a pivot’s source before trusting refresh
Download sales-by-region.csv · comma-separated, 3 columns and 8 data rows.
This shared practice file supplies Region, Channel and Amount for the pivot missing-rows exercise. Initial totals are North 300, South 280, Online 300, Retail 280, grand total 580. Add the tutorial’s North/Online amount 25 and explicitly include that row: the intended grand total becomes 605. CSV contains no pivot; construct and inspect it in a supported interface.
Match department labels, not their positions
Download department-consolidation.txt · two manually entered source blocks.
Use label-based consolidation only in a traditional/Classic installation that actually exposes the documented Consolidate dialog. Paper is 150, Travel 270, Software 130, total 550. Changing Design Paper from 120 to 125 makes the intended linked Paper result 155 and total 555, but the file contains no links or consolidation settings. Availability of this desktop dialog is not established for Online, new desktop or mobile by the download.
Test a shared status vocabulary
Download shared-status-setup.txt · manual-entry instructions.
The data-validity tutorial uses four choices: New, In progress, Blocked and Done. Waiting is initially absent; adding it in H6 requires extending the named source from H2:H5 to H2:H6. Set up and test the rule yourself. TXT stores neither a dropdown nor rejection behavior; a list displayed correctly does not prove that pasted invalid data is blocked.
Test personal filtering without using real shared data
Download sheet-view-practice.csv · comma-separated, 3 columns and 4 data rows.
Follow personal Sheet View limits only where the actual Online deployment provides the controls. North records P101 and P103 total 10 units; South totals 7; all records total 20. Those sums check the dataset, not view isolation. The file contains no views, and only the guide’s authorized two-editor test can check whether one editor’s filter changes the other’s display.
Rules and output checks
Highlight only genuinely overdue open tasks
Download overdue-date-setup.txt · manual-entry date formulas and rule expression.
Follow overdue-date highlighting. With the reference date fixed to 3 April 2026, only row 2 meets the rule. At 4 April, rows 2 and 3 meet it. The completed task, blank date and deliberately text-stored date are excluded. Build the conditional-format rule in a supported editor; the text download does not apply a style. Keep the fixed date while checking, since TODAY would change the expected rows.
Leave inputs editable while protecting formulas
Download protection-practice.txt · manual-entry cells and formulas.
The protection exercise starts with results 9 and 3.75, total 12.75. Changing B2 from 2 to 4 gives 18 and total 21.75. Configure the input attributes and sheet protection separately, then test both an allowed input edit and a rejected formula edit. This file has no protection, password or encryption; correct arithmetic alone does not establish protection.
Verify selected-cell PDF scope
Download print-selection-practice.csv · comma-separated, 6 columns and 30 data rows.
Use selected-cell PDF export. The first five records in A1:F6 have Total values 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10, adding to 30. The CSV stores those amounts as values, not formulas or print settings. Add the guide’s harmless outside-range markers, configure export scope where supported and inspect every PDF page before sharing. Merely selecting cells is not proof of what the PDF contains.
What counts as a completed practice check?
First confirm the starting cells and expected values. Then perform the specific feature test: for example, inspect a name’s bounds, try a blocked formula edit, or compare both editors’ visible records. Save and reopen the separately identified spreadsheet copy and repeat the relevant check. If exchanging XLSX, verify that exported copy in the receiving application too; a successful CSV import does not establish workbook-feature preservation.
If a control is missing or a result differs, use the troubleshooting entry point rather than treating the download as a compatibility guarantee.
Testing disclosure: All ten existing file contents and their linked tutorial scopes were inspected. CSV dimensions, string checks, arithmetic and the fixed-date truth table were independently checked; they are expected controls, not native application results. No Collabora import, feature execution, save/reopen, export or screenshot capture was performed. The downloads are practice inputs, not native templates or proof of current free-edition, package, platform or release availability.
