SoftMaker PlanMaker Starter Files and Practice Downloads
Choose a small identifier exercise, a longer inventory table or a budget input sheet. These plain CSV downloads are not finished PlanMaker templates: formulas, saved scenarios, styling and workbook sheets are not included. Use the originals as reference data and create separate working files.
Choose a starter
| Download | Bytes | Layout including header | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product codes | 74 | 4 rows × 3 columns | Preserve five-character text codes while calculating stock |
| Inventory table | 1,055 | 37 rows × 4 columns | Practise navigating a longer table and checking quantities |
| Budget inputs | 100 | 6 rows × 2 columns | Add two simple formulas to supplied inputs |
All three are UTF-8, comma-separated files. The letters in these particular files are ASCII-compatible. Start at A1 and include the first line as ordinary column headings, not as a single unsplit header cell. The 2024 manual’s Number of header lines setting has a special meaning: use 0 to split these heading fields normally.
Product codes: preserve spelling, then total stock
The columns are Code, Description, Stock. The three records are 00123 / Widget A / 4, 00007 / Widget B / 3 and 01200 / Widget C / 2. Set Code to Text before accepting the import; Stock must remain numeric. Expected occupied range is A1:C4.
Compare all three codes with the source. Each is five characters, but length alone is insufficient. =SUM(C2:C4) should return 9; =COUNT(C2:C4) should return 3. If stock is text or an ID has lost zeros, re-import the untouched CSV rather than using number formatting to conceal the conversion.
The existing leading-zero import tutorial is explicitly PlanMaker 2026 documentation-based, not native-tested. It is a related procedure, not a claim of identical controls in FreeOffice 2024.
Inventory: a longer navigation exercise
Columns are Item and Location as text, then Quantity and Reorder level as numbers. There are 36 records: 12 groups of Notebook, Pen and Folder entries. Each group’s quantities are 12, 30 and 8; its reorder levels are 5, 10 and 4. The first group uses the plain item names and later groups append batch numbers 2 through 12.
Expect A1:D37. Independently calculated checks are 36 numeric quantities, Quantity total 600, and Reorder level total 228. In unused cells, =COUNT(C2:C37), =SUM(C2:C37) and =SUM(D2:D37) should produce those values. All provided quantities exceed their row’s reorder level. This is a navigation fixture, not an automated reorder system or a real inventory.
Use the existing freeze-panes navigation guide for its documented workflow and version limits. The CSV itself has no frozen panes or saved print settings.
Budget: blank result cells are intentional
The two headings are Budget item and Amount. B2:B4 contain 5000 revenue, 1800 variable expenses and 1200 fixed expenses. B5 and B6 are blank beside Total expenses and Surplus. They are not missing download content.
In a working copy enter =SUM(B3:B4) in B5 and =B2-B5 in B6. Expect 3000 expenses and 2000 surplus. Change B3 to 1900 to test recalculation: expected results become 3100 and 1900. Restore 1800 afterwards. These are synthetic arithmetic inputs, not a financial plan.
The related budget scenario tutorial documents PlanMaker 2026, with FreeOffice unverified. Its Scenario manager is not required for this two-formula exercise. Likewise, the PMVX template procedure is scoped to paid PlanMaker 2026, explicitly excluding FreeOffice 2024; do not purchase or trial that edition to use these CSVs.
Free-edition and verification boundary
The FreeOffice PlanMaker 2024 feature page documents a text-file import/export assistant and XLS/XLSX saving for Windows, macOS and Linux. The PlanMaker 2024 text-format manual describes delimiters, preview column types and the header-lines behavior. The general manual alone does not establish every paid/free control is identical. Both full pages were checked October 21, 2026.
For free-only use, check that your installed edition provides the required preview controls before importing text identifiers. If it does not, cancel that dependent exercise rather than accepting converted codes or upgrading. Save a separate XLSX working copy for the calculations and keep the CSVs unchanged. No PlanMaker edition was executed for this catalogue; results were calculated independently, and no new screenshot or save/reopen evidence is claimed. Consult versions and availability for the edition boundary.
Original-file integrity
The original UTF-8 download bytes were inspected on October 21, 2026. No replacement files were created. SHA-256 identifies the file, not successful application import:
