SHEETSNAME in WPS Spreadsheet: List Names from a Known Workbook

Information Intermediate WPS Spreadsheet

Return a current worksheet name or a horizontal list of tab names with WPS SHEETSNAME using the demonstrated reference and no-argument forms.

Verification status: See the evidence and test scope described in this guide. How formula examples are checked

Quick answer: =SHEETSNAME(A1) returns the name of the sheet containing that reference. In the demonstrated no-argument form, =SHEETSNAME() returns the workbook tab names horizontally.

Syntax and arguments

=SHEETSNAME([reference],[result_direction])

Both fields can be omitted in the demonstrated all-sheet listing. The one-argument form uses a cell reference on the current sheet. The second field is exposed as result direction, but no explicit numeric or logical direction value is exercised; this guide leaves it omitted exactly as shown.

Example: a small reproducible fixture

Prepare a workbook with exactly four ordinary visible sheets in this order: Summary, Inputs, Totals, Notes. On Summary, put =SHEETSNAME(A1) in C1. Conditional expected output is Summary: A1 identifies the current worksheet, regardless of its cell contents. Do not put quotation marks around A1.

List all sheet names

On the same Summary sheet, clear C3:F3 and enter =SHEETSNAME() in C3. Conditional expected horizontal output is Summary, Inputs, Totals, Notes. The four returned strings follow the workbook’s tab order in this controlled fixture. This example changes the reference scope by omitting the reference; it does not guess a direction-selector code.

What the official demonstration establishes

At 30.692s the source shows =SHEETSNAME(A1) returning 表格. At 42.864s the selected formula =SHEETSNAME() spills four names horizontally: 表格, 源数据表, 汇总表, 参数表, matching the visible tabs in order. The static illustration says SHEETSNAME, but the actual current tab is 表格; the live result must take precedence.

Troubleshooting and limits

Explicit direction values, cross-workbook references, 3D selections, hidden sheets, chart sheets, rename-refresh behavior and exact blocked-spill errors are not established by these examples. Keep the output cells clear and confirm your installation recognizes this WPS-specific function before relying on it in a shared file.

If the function is not recognized, confirm its availability in the intended WPS installation before changing the formula or substituting a similarly named function. For array outputs, enter the formula in an unused area and reserve the stated output rectangle. Exact blocked-output errors are not established here.

Availability and verification

The official WPS SHEETSNAME lesson shows a Chinese-language WPS spreadsheet interface. The review on October 19, 2026 did not establish a numeric build, exact edition, operating system, license requirement or introduction date. Historical demonstration does not prove present support across desktop, web and mobile editions.

The examples above have independently checked expected results. They have not been executed in an installed WPS build. The stated names and output order are conditional on the specified worksheet setup.

Compare SHEET for a worksheet position and SHEETS for the workbook sheet count. BOOKNAME covers the saved workbook filename rather than its tab names.
