VSTACK in WPS Spreadsheet: Append Equal-Width Tables with One Header
Append equal-width tables with WPS VSTACK. Choose whether to retain repeated headings and format output dates separately.
Verification status: See the evidence and test scope described in this guide. How formula examples are checked
Quick answer: =VSTACK(A1:B3,D2:E3) appends the second table below the first. Starting the second range on row 2 leaves out its heading, so the combined table has one header row.
Syntax and arguments
=VSTACK(array1,array2,...)
Supply rectangles in the required top-to-bottom order. The observed call uses two arrays and the dialog adds further fields. These recipes require two equally wide arrays. The video does not establish maximum arity, a one-array call or omitted-array behavior.
Example: a small reproducible fixture
Enter A1:B3 as rows Item | Qty, Pen | 4, Pad | 2. Enter D1:E3 as rows Item | Qty, Clip | 8, Tape | 1.
In G1, reserve G1:H5 and enter =VSTACK(A1:B3,D2:E3). Expected rows: Item | Qty, Pen | 4, Pad | 2, Clip | 8, Tape | 1. The second range starts on row 2 deliberately, excluding its header. Output height is 3 + 2 = 5; width stays two.
Additional example: retain both headings
To retain two section headings deliberately, use =VSTACK(A1:B3,D1:E3) in G8 with G8:H13 clear. The expected six rows include Item | Qty again at output row 4. VSTACK appends the selected data; it does not identify or remove repeated headings.
What the official demonstration establishes
At 25.817s the live dialog contains =VSTACK(A1:D13,G2:J13). At 30.936s the appended output is visible: 13 rows plus 12 rows, four columns. At 36.055s the demonstrator chooses a date format, and at 41.174s the output dates display accordingly. Number formatting is a separate workflow step from stacking.
Troubleshooting and limits
Unequal widths, padding, empty arrays, error propagation and exact blocked-output errors have not been verified in these examples. Align source columns by meaning before appending them; equal width alone does not ensure compatible data.
If the function is not recognized, confirm its availability in the intended WPS installation before changing the formula or substituting a similarly named function. For array outputs, enter the formula in an unused area and reserve the stated output rectangle. Exact blocked-output errors are not established here.
Availability and verification
The official WPS VSTACK lesson shows a Chinese-language WPS spreadsheet interface. The review on October 19, 2026 did not establish a numeric build, exact edition, operating system, license requirement or introduction date. Historical demonstration does not prove present support across desktop, web and mobile editions.
The examples above have independently checked expected results. They have not been executed in an installed WPS build.
