WPS Spreadsheet Starter Files and Practice Downloads

These synthetic CSV files help you test parsing and exact identifier preservation before using real data. They are not ready-made WPS templates and contain no saved formulas, styles, multiple worksheets or macros. They are direct local-file downloads; no online template purchase is needed.

Pick the right test

Download Bytes Layout including header Separator
Quoted semicolon import data 115 4 rows × 4 columns Semicolon
Tracking identifiers 134 5 rows × 2 columns Comma

Both are UTF-8. Include the header at worksheet row 1 and start at A1 for these checks. Do not use the same delimiter merely because both filenames end in .csv.

Semicolon data: four fields, not five

Columns are Code, City, Note and Quantity. Code must remain text; Quantity should be numeric. The records are:

Exact Code City Parsed Note Quantity
0017 Montréal Fragile; keep dry 2
0028 Zürich Contains, comma 3
0039 Oslo Plain note 5

The first note’s semicolon is quoted in the source and must not split into another field. The second note’s comma is ordinary text for this semicolon-separated file. Inspect both accented city names as well as the table shape.

Expect A1:D4. =SUM(D2:D4) should return 10 and =COUNT(D2:D4) should return 3. Each code should retain its exact four characters, including the two initial zeros. One long column means the separator was not interpreted; five fields in the first record suggests broken quote handling. Re-import the original rather than editing an already-split copy.

The existing one-column CSV troubleshooting guide provides the documented desktop route and preview checks. It is not a native test and does not identify an installed build. If the import wizard cannot preserve Code as Text, cancel instead of accepting lost zeros.

Tracking IDs: compare the complete string

This file has TrackingID and Label columns. Both should remain text. The labels explain the synthetic cases; the IDs are not numbers to add:

TrackingID Label Character count
001234567890123456 Leading zero long ID 18
123456789012345678 Long ID 18
000042 Short zero padded ID 6
12E05 Alphanumeric ID 5

Expected range is A1:B5. Check every character, including final digits and the literal E. A2 and A3 can still have 18 characters after an incorrect conversion, so a length check alone is not success. If imported as intended, =LEN(A2) through =LEN(A5) should return 18, 18, 6, 5. Place these checks in an unused column, not over the Label data.

Use the existing tracking-ID guide for a small manual Text-entry alternative when the available import controls cannot preserve the column. The guide explicitly leaves Text-column import behavior to verification in the installed build. A leading-zero display format cannot reconstruct digits already lost.

Free Windows scope and safe next step

The official WPS Windows Import Data guide, updated July 16, 2026 and checked October 21, lists file import as Free and documents encoding and delimiter choices. It also lists the ACCESS data engine as an import prerequisite. This is Windows documentation, not proof of the same route in Linux, macOS, Web or Android; it supplies no numeric build. Do not install an unknown converter, sign up for a paid service or use a trial to complete these exercises. If a required component or permission is unavailable, stop that dependent import.

Preserve both CSV originals and save the checked result as a separately named workbook. Reopen it and repeat the exact-text and numeric checks on your installation. The local-template workflow explains a clean master versus separate working files, but is also documentation-based with an unspecified Windows build; online template availability varies by item. These downloads do not include a native template or establish every template feature is free.

No WPS application was executed and no screenshots or save/reopen results were produced for this catalogue. File sizes, parsed fields, arithmetic and string lengths were independently checked. See versions and availability for platform boundaries before choosing an application.

Original-file integrity

The original UTF-8 download bytes were inspected on October 21, 2026. No replacement files were created. SHA-256 identifies the file, not successful application import:
