Calligra Sheets Starter Files and Practice Downloads
These two synthetic files are data-only CSV downloads, not native templates. Choose the import fixture to test text preservation or the expense fixture to start a small numerical exercise. Neither contains saved formulas, formatting, macros or additional worksheets.
Choose a file
| Download | Bytes | Layout including header | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| UTF-8 semicolon import fixture | 102 | 3 rows × 4 columns | Quoted separators, accented names and exact text IDs |
| Three-month expense starter | 86 | 4 rows × 4 columns | Numeric totals by month and category |
Both are UTF-8. The first uses semicolon separators and the second comma separators. The extension alone does not choose the right delimiter. Include the header as ordinary worksheet row 1 and start at A1 for the addresses below.
Import fixture: text first, quantities second
The first file has OrderID, Customer, Note and Quantity columns. Its two data records are:
| OrderID as text | Customer | Note after parsing | Numeric Quantity |
|---|---|---|---|
| 000042 | José | Desk; blue | 2 |
| 123456789012345678 | Zoë | He said “OK” | 3 |
The quoted semicolon must stay inside one note. Doubled quotes in the CSV encode the literal quotes around OK. Keep the first three columns Text and Quantity numeric; use the existing CSV import procedure rather than guessing a different dialog route.
Expect A1:D3. Check A2 and A3 character for character, including six characters in A2 and all 18 digits in A3. In an unused cell, =SUM(D2:D3) should return 5. A correct total does not prove the names or IDs survived, so inspect those separately. The existing procedure records an actual import and ODS reopen in Calligra Sheets 25.04.2 on Linux, Debian 13, Qt 6.8.2, on October 16, 2026. Its source review includes v26.08.2; that newer version was not executed. This catalogue adds no native run or screenshots.
Expense starter: verify the nine input amounts
The header is Category, January, February, March. Travel contains 120, 90, 110; Supplies 35, 45, 40; Training 80, 20, 60. These are invented amounts with no currency or tax assumptions. Keep Category text and the nine amounts numeric. There are no total formulas in the download.
With the header at row 1, independently expected checks are:
| Check entered outside A1:D4 | Expected |
|---|---|
=SUM(B2:B4) |
235 |
=SUM(C2:C4) |
155 |
=SUM(D2:D4) |
210 |
=SUM(B2:D4) |
600 |
The three category totals are 320, 120 and 160. Confirm all nine amount cells are numbers rather than accepting only the grand total. A deliberate change from B2=120 to 125 should give January 240 and grand total 605; restore 120 afterwards. For a larger follow-on exercise, see consolidate monthly expense sheets. That procedure has its own scope and does not turn this one-sheet CSV into a completed consolidation workbook.
Preserve a clean starting point
Keep both originals untouched. Save a separate ODS working copy after checking the import. For a reusable master, follow create and reuse an expense template; do not rename a CSV as a template and assume formulas or styles were added.
If rows stay in one column, revisit the separator. If a note splits or accents break, cancel and inspect quoting and source encoding. If an ID changes, restart from the original with Text selected. Do not invent an encoding selector: the existing version-scoped import guide explains UTF-8 preparation and its tested controls.
The official KDE external-data handbook describes CSV import controls. Its handbook revision is 2.7, dated March 11, 2013; it is historical documentation, not proof of today’s interface. Both pages were checked October 21, 2026. See versions and availability before assuming another platform or release matches. All new numerical checks here are independent calculations, not newly observed Calligra results.
Original-file integrity
The original UTF-8 download bytes were inspected on October 21, 2026. No replacement files were created. SHA-256 identifies the file, not successful application import:
